JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Coach
JOB GOAL: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self ? esteem.
RESPONSIBLE TO: School Principal ? for teaching assignments.
Athletic Director ? for coaching assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in session.
Work closely with the Principal in scheduling intramural and interscholastic athletic events.
Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records and similar paperwork.
Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are required to be present.
Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his/her sport.
Enforce disciplined and sportsman like behavior at all times and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by the individual students.
Foster good school/community relations by keeping the community aware and responsive to the athletic program and other programs.
Require medical and birth certificates prior to participation in athletic activity.
Work with the athletic director in the school, extracurricular program designed to foster support for the athletic teams and school spirit among non ? participants.
Work with the athletic director in the annual recognition program for school athletes.
Work with the athletic director and other coaches to ensure a smooth working athletic program.
During instructional time be able to (walk, stand, bend and /or move around in the classroom (80-90) percent of the class period.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in teaching area. Master's Degree preferred.
Valid teaching license in appropriate teaching area.
Demonstrate interest in and aptitude for performing the above responsibilities.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Simpson County Board of Education Policy Manual.
EMPLOYMENT: Nine, or Ten month year; salary and work to be established by the Board.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
